Effective Date: July 16, 2026

Titan Marine Diesel supplies Volvo Penta marine engines, gearboxes, sterndrives, saildrives, IPS systems, controls, replacement parts, and complete propulsion packages.

This Warranty Policy explains how product warranties are handled, what customers must do when reporting a problem, and the difference between a warranty claim and a standard return.

1. Applicable Product Warranty

New products sold by Titan Marine Diesel are covered by the applicable written warranty provided by Volvo Penta or another identified component manufacturer.

Warranty coverage may vary according to:

  • Product model and serial number.
  • Manufacturing or delivery date.
  • Recreational or commercial use.
  • Duty rating and operating application.
  • Installation and commissioning date.
  • Operating hours.
  • Country or region of use.
  • Warranty registration.
  • Maintenance history.
  • Terms stated in the quotation or invoice.

The written warranty applicable to the specific product controls if it differs from general information shown on our website.

Titan Marine Diesel does not provide an additional independent product warranty unless one is expressly stated in writing on the quotation, invoice, or order confirmation.

Nothing in this policy limits any warranty or consumer right that cannot legally be excluded.

2. Warranty Availability Before Purchase

Customers may request a copy of the applicable product warranty before completing a purchase.

Requests should be sent to:

sales@titanmarinediesel.com

Please identify the product model and intended application so we can provide the most relevant available warranty information.

Customers should review the warranty duration, operating-hour limitations, application restrictions, registration requirements, exclusions, and claim procedures before placing an order.

3. Warranty Registration

Certain products may require warranty registration following installation or commissioning.

Where applicable, the customer must provide accurate information, including:

  • Product model.
  • Product serial number.
  • Purchase date.
  • Installation date.
  • Vessel name and type.
  • Intended use.
  • Installer details.
  • Current operating hours.
  • Customer contact information.

Titan Marine Diesel may assist with warranty documentation or registration where this service is available.

The customer remains responsible for confirming that registration has been completed correctly and within any applicable manufacturer deadline.

Proof of purchase should be retained throughout the warranty period.

4. Installation and Commissioning

Marine engines and propulsion systems must be installed, aligned, connected, commissioned, and tested correctly.

Installation should be performed by a qualified marine technician who is familiar with the relevant product and application.

The installer must follow applicable:

  • Manufacturer installation manuals.
  • Electrical specifications.
  • Fuel-system requirements.
  • Cooling-system requirements.
  • Exhaust-system requirements.
  • Engine-mounting and alignment procedures.
  • Control and instrumentation instructions.
  • Commissioning procedures.
  • Marine safety standards.

Customers are not required by this policy to use a particular repair company merely to preserve warranty coverage.

However, damage or failure caused by incorrect installation, improper commissioning, unauthorized modification, unsuitable parts, or work that does not comply with manufacturer requirements may not be covered.

Customers should retain installation invoices, commissioning reports, measurements, photographs, and technician details.

5. Maintenance Responsibilities

Warranty coverage does not replace the customer’s responsibility to operate and maintain the equipment correctly.

Customers must follow the applicable maintenance schedule and retain service records showing:

  • Service dates.
  • Engine operating hours.
  • Oil and filter changes.
  • Fuel-system maintenance.
  • Cooling-system maintenance.
  • Belt and impeller replacement.
  • Anode inspection and replacement.
  • Approved fluid specifications.
  • Parts installed.
  • Name of the technician or service provider.

Failure to perform required maintenance does not automatically cancel every warranty right. However, a claim may be denied when the reported damage was caused by neglected, late, or incorrect maintenance.

6. What Warranty Coverage May Include

Subject to the applicable written manufacturer warranty, an approved claim may include:

  • Technical diagnosis.
  • Repair of a covered defect.
  • Replacement of a defective component.
  • Replacement parts.
  • Approved labor.
  • Replacement of the product where repair is not appropriate.
  • Another remedy permitted under the applicable warranty.

The manufacturer or warrantor normally determines the appropriate remedy.

A warranty claim does not automatically entitle the customer to:

  • An immediate refund.
  • A complete replacement engine.
  • Replacement before inspection.
  • Reimbursement for unapproved repairs.
  • Reimbursement for unrelated vessel expenses.

7. Items Generally Not Covered

Warranty coverage is intended primarily for qualifying defects in materials or workmanship.

Subject to the applicable written warranty, coverage may be excluded when damage or failure results from:

  • Incorrect installation or alignment.
  • Improper commissioning.
  • Overloading or operation outside the approved duty rating.
  • Incorrect propeller, gear ratio, or vessel application.
  • Contaminated or unsuitable fuel.
  • Incorrect lubricants, coolant, or fluids.
  • Water ingestion.
  • Restricted cooling-water flow.
  • Improper exhaust-system design.
  • Overheating.
  • Corrosion, electrolysis, or galvanic damage.
  • Freezing.
  • Accident, grounding, collision, fire, or flooding.
  • Improper transportation or storage.
  • Neglected or incorrect maintenance.
  • Unauthorized alteration or modification.
  • Incorrect wiring or voltage.
  • External vessel-system failure.
  • Continued operation after a warning, alarm, leak, or known fault.
  • Normal wear and scheduled maintenance.
  • Consumable parts unless failure resulted from a covered defect.

Coverage decisions are based on the cause of the failure, not only on the fact that a product failed during the warranty period.

8. Third-Party Components

A propulsion package may include components manufactured by companies other than Volvo Penta.

Examples may include:

  • Marine transmissions.
  • Batteries.
  • Charging equipment.
  • Controls or instruments.
  • Fuel-system components.
  • Accessories.
  • Separately branded equipment.

These products may be covered by the warranty of their respective manufacturer.

Where applicable, Titan Marine Diesel will help identify the appropriate warranty provider and assist the customer with available documentation.

9. How to Submit a Warranty Claim

Warranty claims must be submitted to:

support@titanmarinediesel.com

Please provide:

  • Customer or company name.
  • Order or invoice number.
  • Proof of purchase.
  • Product model.
  • Product serial number.
  • Vessel type and application.
  • Recreational or commercial use.
  • Installation and commissioning dates.
  • Current operating hours.
  • Installer information.
  • Maintenance records.
  • Detailed description of the problem.
  • Fault codes or alarm information.
  • Clear photographs or videos.
  • Diagnostic report, if available.

Additional information may be requested before the claim can be submitted to the manufacturer or reviewed fully.

Providing complete information helps prevent delays.

10. Diagnosis and Claim Authorization

Customers must not dismantle, modify, repair, replace, or return a product before receiving instructions, except where immediate action is reasonably required to protect personal safety or prevent further damage.

A warranty investigation may require:

  • Remote technical assessment.
  • Inspection by a qualified technician.
  • Electronic diagnostic testing.
  • Fluid or fuel analysis.
  • Photographs or videos.
  • Removal of a suspected component.
  • Return of a component for inspection.
  • Inspection by the manufacturer or its appointed representative.

Diagnostic or repair work must be approved in advance when reimbursement is expected.

Titan Marine Diesel cannot guarantee reimbursement for unauthorized:

  • Labor.
  • Replacement parts.
  • Travel.
  • Freight.
  • Diagnosis.
  • Removal or installation work.
  • Third-party repairs.

The customer may initially be responsible for diagnostic expenses. Reimbursement, where available, depends on claim approval and the applicable written warranty.

11. Titan Marine Diesel’s Role

Titan Marine Diesel will reasonably assist customers by:

  • Reviewing the initial claim information.
  • Confirming available product and purchase records.
  • Helping identify the applicable warranty.
  • Requesting additional technical information.
  • Communicating with the manufacturer, distributor, or warranty provider where appropriate.
  • Providing claim-status information available to us.
  • Coordinating approved parts or return instructions where applicable.

Final warranty approval may be determined by Volvo Penta, the component manufacturer, distributor, or another applicable warrantor.

Titan Marine Diesel cannot approve a manufacturer claim contrary to the applicable manufacturer warranty.

12. Warranty Claims Are Not Ordinary Returns

Installed, commissioned, or operated products cannot normally be returned under the standard Returns and Refunds Policy.

A product that develops a problem after installation will generally be handled through the warranty process.

Customers must not ship a complete engine, gearbox, drive, or component to Titan Marine Diesel without written authorization.

Unauthorized returns may be refused or returned to the sender at the sender’s expense.

13. Shipping and Labor Costs

Responsibility for shipping, diagnosis, removal, installation, travel, and labor depends on the applicable written warranty and claim approval.

Unless specifically covered and approved, warranty coverage may not include:

  • Equipment removal.
  • Equipment reinstallation.
  • Vessel haul-out or launch.
  • Crane or lifting services.
  • Towing.
  • Dockage.
  • Travel and accommodation.
  • Express freight.
  • Customs duties and taxes.
  • Brokerage or port charges.
  • Vessel downtime.
  • Loss of use.
  • Lost charter or business income.
  • Replacement-vessel expenses.

Customers should obtain written authorization before incurring significant warranty-related costs.

14. International Warranty Claims

International customers should contact Titan Marine Diesel before arranging inspection, repairs, or return transportation.

Warranty service availability may depend on:

  • Product location.
  • Regional warranty coverage.
  • Local Volvo Penta or manufacturer service availability.
  • Export version of the product.
  • Local regulations.
  • Required diagnostic facilities.
  • Manufacturer authorization.

The customer may be responsible for customs clearance, duties, taxes, brokerage, local transportation, and other destination-country charges unless the applicable warranty expressly provides otherwise.

Do not export or return warranty products without receiving shipping and customs instructions.

15. Transferred or Resold Products

Transferability of warranty coverage depends on the applicable written manufacturer warranty.

A subsequent owner may be required to provide:

  • Original proof of purchase.
  • Product serial number.
  • Vessel information.
  • Ownership-transfer documents.
  • Maintenance history.
  • Updated registration information.

Titan Marine Diesel does not guarantee that a warranty can be transferred unless the applicable written warranty allows it.

16. Used, Reconditioned, and Remanufactured Products

Used, reconditioned, or remanufactured products may carry different warranty terms from new products.

Any applicable warranty period and coverage will be stated on the product page, quotation, invoice, or order confirmation.

Where a product is sold without a separate written warranty, the sale remains subject to any rights that cannot legally be excluded.

17. Claim Decisions and Appeals

If a warranty claim is denied, the customer may request an explanation of the available decision.

Where additional evidence becomes available, the customer may submit it for further review.

Relevant evidence may include:

  • Additional diagnostic findings.
  • Maintenance records.
  • Installation reports.
  • Fluid-analysis results.
  • Photographs.
  • Manufacturer service reports.
  • Evidence addressing the stated reason for denial.

Submitting additional information does not guarantee that the original decision will be changed.

18. Limitation of This Policy

This page explains Titan Marine Diesel’s general warranty-support process. It does not replace or modify the written warranty issued by Volvo Penta or another manufacturer.

If this policy conflicts with an applicable manufacturer warranty, the manufacturer warranty controls with respect to that manufacturer’s coverage.

Nothing in this policy excludes or limits any legal right or remedy that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
