At Titan Marine Diesel, we supply Volvo Penta marine engines, gearboxes, sterndrives, saildrives, IPS systems, controls, replacement parts, and complete propulsion packages.
Because these products are high-value and often selected or configured for a specific vessel, all returns are subject to the conditions outlined below.
1. Return Eligibility
Eligible stocked parts and accessories may be returned within 30 calendar days of delivery.
Eligible engines, gearboxes, drives, and complete propulsion equipment may be returned within 14 calendar days of delivery, subject to prior approval.
To qualify for a return, the product must:
- Be unused and uninstalled.
- Be in its original condition.
- Be free from fuel, oil, coolant, or other contamination.
- Include all original accessories, manuals, documentation, and components.
- Remain in its original packaging, crate, pallet, or shipping frame.
- Have an approved Return Authorization number.
Products that have been installed, connected, programmed, registered, commissioned, or operated are not eligible for an ordinary return.
2. Nonreturnable Products
Unless Titan Marine Diesel supplied the wrong product, the product arrived damaged, or applicable law requires otherwise, the following products cannot be returned:
- Installed or used products.
- Special-order or non-stock products.
- Custom-built or configured propulsion packages.
- Products ordered with a specific gear ratio, voltage, control system, or regional specification.
- Programmed or activated electronic components.
- Opened electrical or electronic products.
- Products with removed or altered serial numbers.
- Products damaged through improper handling, storage, installation, or maintenance.
- Products missing their original packaging, accessories, or documentation.
- Clearance products marked as final sale.
- Fluids, oils, paints, chemicals, and hazardous materials.
Special-order products are normally final sale once purchasing, allocation, importation, programming, or configuration has begun.
3. Return Authorization Process
All returns require a Return Authorization number before shipment.
To request a return, contact:

Please include:
- Customer or company name.
- Order or invoice number.
- Product model and part number.
- Product serial number, where applicable.
- Reason for the return.
- Confirmation that the product has not been installed or used.
- Clear photographs of the product and packaging.
- Photographs or videos showing any reported damage or issue.
If the return is approved, Titan Marine Diesel will provide:
- A Return Authorization number.
- Return instructions.
- The approved return address.
- Any applicable restocking fee.
Products returned without prior authorization may be refused or returned to the sender at the sender’s expense.
4. Return Shipping
Customers are responsible for return shipping when the return results from:
- Buyer’s remorse.
- Project cancellation.
- Duplicate ordering.
- Ordering the wrong product.
- Compatibility problems caused by incorrect or incomplete information supplied by the customer.
Titan Marine Diesel will cover reasonable authorized return shipping costs when:
- We supplied the wrong product.
- The shipment arrived with verified carrier damage.
- The product was materially different from the confirmed order.
- We made another confirmed fulfillment error.
All returns must:
- Be shipped freight prepaid.
- Use a trackable shipping method.
- Be properly packaged for commercial transportation.
- Display the Return Authorization number.
- Be insured for the full product value.
Engines, gearboxes, and propulsion equipment must be returned in their original crate, pallet, or approved shipping frame.
Titan Marine Diesel is not responsible for products lost or damaged during customer-arranged return transportation.
5. Restocking Fees
Eligible stocked parts returned unused, complete, and in fully resalable condition are not normally subject to a restocking fee.
Approved customer-choice returns of engines, gearboxes, sterndrives, saildrives, IPS equipment, and complete propulsion packages may be subject to a restocking fee of up to 20% of the product purchase price.
Restocking fees may cover:
- Product inspection.
- Administrative processing.
- Inventory handling.
- Repackaging.
- Quality verification.
- Supplier or manufacturer charges.
- Loss of resale value.
The applicable restocking fee will be communicated before the customer returns the product.
No restocking fee will apply when Titan Marine Diesel confirms that it supplied the wrong product.
6. Inspection and Return Approval
All returned products are inspected before a refund is approved.
We will verify:
- Product condition.
- Part and serial numbers.
- Packaging condition.
- Completeness of the returned equipment.
- Evidence of installation, operation, or programming.
- Missing accessories or documentation.
- Damage sustained during return transportation.
Products that do not meet the approved return conditions may:
- Be rejected and returned to the customer.
- Be subject to repackaging or handling charges.
- Receive a reduced refund based on their condition.
- Be treated as warranty claims where appropriate.
Receiving a returned product does not automatically guarantee approval of a refund.
7. Refund Processing
Once an authorized return has been received, inspected, and approved, the refund will normally be initiated within 5–10 business days.
Refunds will be issued to the original payment method whenever possible.
Refunds may include:
- The approved product purchase price.
- Applicable sales tax collected by Titan Marine Diesel.
Refunds generally do not include:
- Original shipping charges.
- Expedited shipping fees.
- Return shipping costs.
- Restocking fees.
- Customs duties.
- Import taxes.
- Brokerage charges.
- Storage or demurrage fees.
- Bank transfer fees.
- Currency-conversion charges.
- Installation or removal expenses.
Banks and payment providers may require additional time to post the refund to the customer’s account.
8. Damaged, Missing, or Incorrect Shipments
Customers must inspect all shipments immediately upon delivery.
Visible damage, shortages, broken crates, punctured packaging, or missing packages should be recorded on the carrier’s delivery receipt before signing.
Report damaged, missing, or incorrect shipments within 72 hours of delivery by emailing support@titanmarinediesel.com.
Please provide:
- Order or invoice number.
- Clear photographs of the product.
- Photographs of the crate or packaging.
- Photographs of shipping and product labels.
- Product serial number.
- Delivery receipt.
- Description of the damage, shortage, or error.
Keep all packaging, crates, pallets, labels, and damaged components until the claim has been resolved.
Depending on the circumstances, Titan Marine Diesel may:
- Supply a missing component.
- Send the correct product.
- Arrange a repair or replacement.
- Coordinate a carrier claim.
- Approve a partial or full refund.
- Provide another appropriate resolution.
Do not install, operate, repair, or return damaged or incorrect equipment without written instructions.
9. Compatibility and Incorrect Selection
Customers are responsible for confirming that the product is suitable for their vessel and application before ordering.
Compatibility may depend on:
- Existing engine model and serial number.
- Vessel type and intended use.
- Gearbox and reduction ratio.
- Shaft, propeller, or drive system.
- Electrical voltage.
- Control system.
- Cooling and exhaust configuration.
- Mounting dimensions.
- Emissions or regional requirements.
Our recommendations are based on the information supplied by the customer.
Titan Marine Diesel is not responsible for incorrect product selection caused by incomplete, inaccurate, or withheld technical information.
An incorrectly selected product may qualify for return only if it remains unused, uninstalled, complete, and in fully resalable condition.
10. Order Cancellations
Cancellation requests must be sent promptly to:
Orders canceled before processing, inventory allocation, or supplier purchasing may qualify for a full refund.
Orders canceled after processing has begun may be subject to deductions for:
- Administrative expenses.
- Bank or payment-processing charges.
- Supplier cancellation fees.
- Product allocation costs.
- Programming or configuration expenses.
- Crating or freight-booking costs.
Approved cancellations may be subject to a cancellation fee of up to 15%, depending on the stage of the order.
Special-order, custom-configured, manufacturer-built, or non-stock products may not be canceled once procurement, allocation, or production has begun.
Orders that have already shipped will be handled as returns under this policy.
11. Warranty Claims and Returns
This return policy applies primarily to unused and uninstalled products.
Products that have been installed, commissioned, operated, or placed into service will normally be handled under the applicable manufacturer or product warranty.
A suspected product defect may require:
- Technical diagnosis.
- Fault codes.
- Photographs or videos.
- Installation information.
- Maintenance records.
- Inspection by an approved or qualified marine technician.
- Manufacturer authorization.
Warranty remedies may include:
- Technical assistance.
- Replacement components.
- Repair.
- Product replacement.
- Another remedy available under the applicable warranty.
A warranty claim does not automatically qualify the complete product for an immediate return or refund.

12. International Returns
International returns require prior written authorization.
Unless the return results from a confirmed Titan Marine Diesel error, international customers are responsible for:
- Return freight and insurance.
- Export documentation.
- Import documentation.
- Customs clearance.
- Brokerage charges.
- Duties and taxes.
- Port, airport, terminal, or handling charges.
- Storage and demurrage charges.
Duties, import taxes, tariffs, brokerage fees, and government charges paid to third parties are generally nonrefundable.
Titan Marine Diesel is not responsible for delays caused by customs authorities, ports, freight carriers, or incomplete return documentation.
13. Compliance With Applicable Law
This policy is intended to comply with applicable United States federal and state consumer-protection requirements.
Nothing in this policy limits any right or remedy that cannot legally be excluded.
Where applicable law gives a customer greater rights than those stated in this policy, the applicable law will control.
